elevating a tax-tech visionary into a category leader
The moment the new K1x brand hit the world, the numbers shifted — demos rose, meetings multiplied, and more than $20M in new funding followed.
K1x had always built extraordinary technology, but their brand and digital presence hadn’t yet caught up to the pace or intelligence of the product. What started as a homegrown identity was holding back a fast-scaling platform that deserved to stand in its full power. Our work together brought clarity, warmth, and authority to the brand. When the brand reflected the possibility and value of the product, the market responded.
Brand clarity helped K1x convert product strength into measurable momentum across demos, meetings, and market growth.

The approach
Strategy rooted in human relief
In our earliest conversations and analysis a theme made repeat guest appearances: chaos. Tax-season overwhelm, unpredictable workloads, late nights, and the emotional toll that came with it. But the more we listened, the more we understood K1x through a different lens: not as another tool out for their jobs, but as a calming intelligence inside a pressure-cooker industry.
This insight set the tone for the creative. We positioned K1x not only as a platform that organizes complexity, but as a partner that restores clarity. Their story became one of hours saved to be human, order, and regained margin, a message that resonated deeply with both users and investors.
With strategy in place, we rebuilt the visual identity to express a more mature and expansive version of K1x. The design system introduced a sense of electrified intelligence — deep gradients, soft atmospherics, and bright, tactile data visualizations that reflected the flow of real tax-work patterns. Shapes inspired by chaos theory ebbed and pulsed in the background, a visual metaphor for what K1x quietly organizes.
We also welcomed moments of humanity, like Lynxie, a character designed to guide users with a wayfind and a wink. It wasn’t cute for the sake of cute — it made a notoriously stressful field feel navigable.
The identity shifted K1x from “scrappy startup” to “credible SaaS category leader,” with a presence strong enough for enterprise buyers and sophisticated enough for investors.

Meetings that *actually* mattered
The experience of working with MALI; might talk about the meeting cadence, that we met with several team members up front to understand; deep diving
Can talk about that it was a high-speed; website, sales enablement tools and stuff, and also the things for the product team to implement–talking about strategy that truly spanned channels.
Could talk about working quickly within the constraints of tax season. Could say that our ongoing work something something
Sales Enablement tools that lived outside a vacuum
What does sales enablement mean? For K1x, it meant:
- Sales collateral design – polished, on-brand brochures, one-pagers, product data sheets, case study write-ups, whitepapers, etc., that communicate your value clearly and attractively.
- Pitch decks and presentations – we build persuasive slide decks for sales pitches or investor meetings, combining compelling copy with eye-catching visuals so your story lands with impact.
- Interactive sales tools – need a sales microsite, an ROI calculator, or an interactive PDF? We can design (and even develop) tools that give your reps an edge during the sales process.
- Templates and guides – we create templates for things like proposals, quotes, or follow-up emails, so your team can quickly personalize and send while staying on-message. We also craft internal playbooks or cheat sheets that boil down complex product info into easy talking points for reps.
- Trade show & event assets – if your sales efforts involve conferences or events, we design booth graphics, banners, handouts, and demo signage that draw in prospects and tell your story at a glance.
In essence, if it’s a material that helps your team sell better, it likely falls under sales enablement and we can help with it. We combine strong design, clear writing, and an understanding of your audience to make each asset as effective as possible.
Humanist brand systems that make hard stuff fun stuff
In our experience, the right sales materials can make a night-and-day difference. It comes down to communication and confidence. When your sales team has clear, well-designed content, they can convey your value to customers faster and more convincingly. Prospects aren’t left scratching their heads or wading through technical jargon – they get what you’re offering, which makes them more likely to move forward.
Visually, professional design lends credibility. A sleek sales deck or brochure signals to a customer that you’re a polished, trustworthy organization. Conversely, a sloppy or text-dense document can lose their interest or raise doubts. Good content also ensures consistency: every rep is telling the same compelling story, rather than each inventing their own version. That consistency builds trust and reinforces your brand.
Additionally, having great collateral saves your salespeople time and stress. They’re not scrambling to create slides from scratch or piecing together info from ten sources – it’s all prepared, on-message, and ready to go. This frees them to focus on the relationship and really listen to the client. In short, better design and content make your team more efficient, more confident, and ultimately more effective at closing deals.
The outlet
Digital designed to build trust, decimate complexity, and buoy sales
We rebuilt the K1x digital experience to feel spacious, intelligent, and emotionally intuitive. Product value was framed in terms of time and energy regained. Messaging shifted from technical function to human impact. Every detail — from the motion language to the color system — helped visitors exhale. As the brand elevated, the business metrics responded immediately. Demo requests surged. Sales conversations accelerated. Meetings booked grew exponentially. In the months that followed, K1x entered another phase of serious growth, capturing over 40,000 organizations turned happy clients and earning recognition from Fast Company and major SaaS award programs.
We approached the site as both a marketing surface and a sales tool, structuring content to support fast comprehension, confident decision-making, and long-term trust. We built a robust library of assets including videos, posts, data sheets, and sales decks. These materials deepen value well beyond the first interaction. They support sales conversations, help break down offerings in real time, and give customers resources they can return to as they evaluate and adopt the platform. Together, the site and supporting assets form a digital ecosystem designed to support understanding, accelerate sales, and build long-term trust.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
K1x’s new brand and digital presence helped accelerate a trajectory they were already on: rapid adoption, expanding pipeline, and investor confidence. The work brought coherence and maturity to their story, giving them systems that grow as quickly as their ambitions.
K1x didn’t change who they were; the brand started telling the truth about them.
